The first Deerhound we ever owned, Alice was the foundation bitch of the kennel. She was a lovely introduction to the breed and was in type and temperament exactly what we have in our kennel today. We were very lucky with this foundation bitch in that she was exactly what we wanted. Half Ardkinglas, one quarter Dufault, and one quarter Rotherwood. These three leading kennels made up her breeding and for a newcomer to the breed it gave us a good spring board with which to launch our kennel. Most of the present Kilbourne hounds are direct descendants of Alice who live with us until she died at the age of 11 years. One special hound to remember.
