The standard says

Male animals should have two apparently normal testicles fiully descended into the scrotum.

We have known monorchids and chryptorchids in the breed, less now than when we started so maybe things have improved. e recently knew of a puppy that got it's 2nd testicles at 6 months of age but generally we like to see them enitre before 12 weeks of age. One championship show judge recently commented on the fact the testicles in the Deerhounds were getting smaller and maybe this is affecting their fertility, something to watch maybe.
