Although now retired, both are doing IT work from home. Mick's hobbies, when he finds time for them include DIY, old cars, and writing software. Mick builds and maintains the Deerhound Club website while Glenis maintains the Kilbourne site along with Deerhound sites Greyflax, Killoeter Gentom Abayomi, Brackenland Wolfscastle PLUS Aquilita Rough Collies and Rainsgift Flatcoats Our extended family include our sister Jenny and hubby Paddy. Neice Alice, her hubby Siman and their two girls Darci and Fern whom we dont see often enough but still adore.
Breeding and showing Deerhounds is a passion both share, and get a great deal of pleasure from watching dogs, bred at Kilbourne, win and take their owners forward. We are proud of the fact we have mentored some now very successfull kennels as well as enhansing others. Beardswood, Ardkinglas, Dufault, Greyflax Gentom, Hyndsight, Ghiltan, Pendrethan to name a few, all have successfully dipped into our genes. We hope to establish a small kennel of Basset Fauves de bretagne in 2008 and are looking forward to the challenge of the smaller dogs. Glenis does not show the deerhounds now so the smaller dogs will be more maneagable and they have already found a place at Kilbourne
As well as the dogs Glenis has her little mini american horse Flea and a pure flock of welsummer chickens. The two cats who live at Kilbourne are very fit as you can imagine but the Siamese and Emmi Mike's litle mini dash were the best of friends. Sadly the Siamese is not longer at Kilbourne. Not being streetwise she exposed herself to the pack and although they did not touch her she never recovered from the shock of the chase.
Peace - Anyone wanting to visit the hounds are made very welcome. |
